30 am; including every other weekendRequired Skills and Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers Knowledge of basic patient/resident care skills Ability to perform all baseline resident/patient care skills under guidance of Licensed Nurse Effective interpersonal skills Excellent communication and documentation skills, computer skills Fluent knowledge of English (written and spoken) Preferred Skills and Qualifications Completion of a Nursing Assistant training program Current Nursing Student (RN) who is currently enrolled or has already completed their Psych/BHS clinical rotation One year of Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting One year of Nursing Assistant experience in acute psychiatric setting Summary The Nursing Assistant - NA collaborates with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in the delivery of quality patient/resident care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
Delivers care with consideration to age specific needs/care.
Contributes to overall unit functions.
Monitor patient's level of observation, reports any safety issues to the licensed nurse, may be required to facilitate community meetings and assist with grooming groups.
The Medical Psychiatric Program (MPP) is a 12 bed open unit and part of 46 beds Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at Sharp Grossmont Hospital.
This unit is designed for adults who have both medical and psychological diagnoses requiring 24-hour skilled nursing inpatient assistance.
The unique strength of this program comes from combining physical and psychological care in one setting and best serve the needs of persons with a primary psychiatric diagnosis, who also have additional medical complications.
